Shadows on the Moon

Put your thoughts to sleep
And do not let them cast
a shadow over the moon of your heart
Let go of thinking
 - Rumi

We were lounging in the vardo yesterday afternoon, knowing Mahina, the Moon, would be full, and rising soon. Everywhere above us there were clouds. Serious kind clouds.

But we have a favorite moon view place that means driving from our cozy nest in 'Scout' the Subaru. There's something very special going on between 'Scout' and Mahina. They have been close close friends since our days of sleeping in 'Scout' and waking up to moonrise at the beach near Sandy Beach, on O'ahu.

'Scout' knows what's up.

With commitment and excitement we dressed up warm and jumped in the car for Glendale Beach.

This full moon is lighting up the cloudy spots in our field of vision, making us aware of the obstacles we place on our path. "Thinking" we were looking in the right direction, it was marvelous to see we were wrong.

The sky is a big picture. How grateful we are to be opening space for our hearts to grow full, and receptive to love. More and lots of it. With time, patience, and helpful friends and family along the way, we laugh and cry at the many different ways we express ourselves. The Moon, Mahina, draws the waters of Earth including all the waters and fluids within all living beings. Emotions flow in those water, and we feel

Sometimes what we feel is clouded by what we think; and vice versa. Driving the short distance between our home and the place where the Moon reflected herself in the water we let go of holding on, resisting flow, and by the time She -- the Moon -- was ready to slip away she called me from my cozy bed.

"Come dance with me!" she beckoned.

"Alright," there was no more excuses.

I stepped out of the dangling cotton and shower curtain door and was lit.

The dance we did together?

What if the Hokey Pokey IS what it's all about?

Mahalo to our friend Donnette Paishon for sharing the wonderful quote from Rumi that begins this post. She shared the Rumi quote as we ended our Friday morning Jin Shin Jyutsu ZOOM gathering. In that virtually-together space Pete and I, have created a sacred and powerful practice of 'now know myself' (the translation of Jin Shin Jyutsu).  For nearly a year Donnette guides our group of 7 to twelve of us through the gentle art of Jin Shin Jyutsu; we connect to ourselves, our friends, and with the source of all being. What a gift it is.  One of the most amazing things to come from this visitation with Covid and its many manifestations. Link here to learn about One Wave JSJ, and how Donnette shares the ancient healing practice.
